Lake Whitney Medical Center

Lake Whitney has over 35 square miles of clear, blue water, and the area has almost 40 square miles of parks and public lands. Rugged white limestone cliffs border much of the lake, providing a dramatic backdrop to the crystal blue water. Picturesque coves, often with small waterfalls, offer pleasant surprises to boaters throughout the lake.

Lake Whitney was formed in the 1950’s, when a dam was constructed on the Brazos River. The river was named “Rio de los Brazos de Dios” by early Spanish explorers, which means “The River of the Arms of God”.

Located at the top of Hill Country, just an hour or hour and a half from the DFW metroplex, Lake Whitney is the perfect getaway for a quick weekend trip any time of the year.
