Early in his anesthesiology career, Dr. Ken Ellington discovered a real opportunity to improve the efficiency of anesthesia practices and operating rooms. Dr. Ellington’s strategic innovations took place at nationally renowned Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC, where he was Chairman of the 15th largest anesthesia group in the U.S. Dr. Ellington’s success in this capacity led to his appointment as Director of Perioperative Services at Mission Hospital.

In four years, he increased surgical cases from 29,000 to over 40,000 per year with minimal increases in direct costs. Uniquely positioned to share his knowledge and success with the medical community, Dr. Ellington established MedStream.
