May 27 : Total 2014 EHR Certified Software Almost 1,200

cms grants providers

By Christine Kern

2014 EHR Certified Software

Nearly 100 additional electronic health records products have been added recently.

In the past month alone, almost 100 new EHR products have been added to the federal government ‘s list of products meeting some or all requirements under the 2014 Edition of meaningful use. With the addition of these new products, the total is now approximately 1,160 products – up from 830 just three months ago – as vendors continue to bring out new versions of their products at a pace much slower than federal officials envisioned but industry stakeholders warned about.

In light of the slow delivery and implementation of the upgraded 2014 Edition software, the CMS has proposed a rule to extend the Stage 1 EHR Incentive Program, as Health IT Outcomes reported here. As the new software continues to unroll slowly, healthcare providers have been scrambling to meet EHR attestation deadlines. Among the newly certified products are:

  • Quality Health Systems (NextGen): Mirth Connect health information exchange software, version 3.0.1, certified as an inpatient and ambulatory EHR Module by the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology.
  • Royal Solutions Group: Royal Solutions 3.0 (portals, kiosks, security & email) as an ambulatory EHR Module, certified by ICSA Labs.
  • Practice-Web Inc.: Practice-Web EHR Version 14.2, as an ambulatory complete EHR, certified by Drummond Group.
  • Networking Technology Inc.: RxNT eHr, v. 7.1, as an ambulatory Complete EHR, certified by CCHIT.
  • First Insights Corp.: Maxim Eyes EHR, Version 1.5.0.0, as an ambulatory Complete EHR, certified by CCHIT.
  • Modernizing Medicine: EMA Version 4.0 as an ambulatory Complete EHR, and EMA Mobile Version 4.0 as an EHR Module, certified by ICSA Labs.

Each Complete EHR and EHR Module listed on the Certified Health IT Product List has been tested and certified by an authorized testing and certification body against applicable standards and certification criteria adopted by the HHS Secretary. EHR technologies that have been certified under the ONC HIT Certification Program are eligible to be used for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) EHR Incentive Programs. The CHPL provides CMS EHR Certification ID for qualified products to be used in the CMS EHR Incentive Programs.
