Nextrials to Demo E2E™ EHR Integration Tool at CDISC International Interchange

Assessing Innovations in Digital Healthcare

Nextrials, Inc., a leader in clinical research software and services, today announced it will demonstrate its E2E™ electronic health record (EHR) integration tool at the CDISC 2015 International Interchange, taking place this week in Chicago. Attendees can view the E2E demonstrations November 10-11 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. CST at the Nextrials’ booth (#22) in the event’s exhibition hall at the Fairmont Chicago.

Designed to mesh EHRs with Nextrials’ award-winning electronic data capture (EDC) platform Prism®, E2E extracts clinical data directly from the EHR, streamlining data collection and improving data quality. The integration tool was recently upgraded to offer clear visual cues to indicate the data origination point (EHR or EDC) and to generate graphical indicators when data is out of sync between the two repositories. This new functionality enables researchers to save time and maintain data quality throughout a study.

“With E2E’s new features, researchers can easily view all study data in the EHR system, quickly determine the source of the data and identify any data mismatches,” said Nextrials CEO James Rogers. “This more efficient data collection process delivers better data quality and reduces opportunities for transcription errors.”

E2E’s new features are designed to alert users when the two data repositories are out of sync. This typically happens when a healthcare site changes its data after it has already been migrated into a clinical database. By clicking on a yellow delta icon alert, users can now see the new value next to the original data point in the electronic case report form (eCRF). The researcher can then select to update the data or keep its original value. Any changes are captured in Prism’s audit trail.

Nextrials has also added new multi-colored visual cues to E2E, allowing researchers to easily distinguish data entered manually into the clinical database from the data originating in the EHR.
