Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa on Wednesday inaugurated the Apollo Super Speciality Hospitals at Vanagaram in Chennai and Tiruchy through the video-conferencing facility at the State Secretariat.

Thanking the Chief Minister, Dr Prathap C Reddy, Chairman of Apollo Hospitals Group (AHG) recalled that though India was globally recognised for its unparalleled clinical outcomes, there were many underserved areas where affordable quality healthcare is yet to reach.

“As the first private healthcare provider in the country, Apollo has always worked towards raising the benchmark for administering healthcare to global standards,” he added.

Preetha Reddy, managing director, AHG recalled the services offered by the hospital group during the past three decades in Chennai. The group was now spreading its footprint across II and III tier locations to serve the people, she added. The super speciality hospital of Apollo hospitals at Vanagaram with 260 beds, spanning over 1,35,000 sq.ft, is being served by over 70 internationally renowned consultants trained from the US and the UK.

The hospital is equipped to offer high-end tertiary care across 30 specialities and is a recipient of noteworthy recognition from HIMSS Analytics for achieving Stage Six of the EMR Adoption Model (EMRAM), signifying advancements in IT, that will drastically reduce medication errors. The hospital has revolutionised patient care with the launch of its I-SEE-U facility which allow caretakers to view their family members in ICU from their homes. The 5 to 9 Super Speciality Evening Clinic at the Vanagaram hospital will help the working class to take charge of their own health.

The other facilities and amenities at the Vanagaram hospital include state-of-the-art ICU/CCU units, cutting-edge imaging and diagnostic facilities, cath lab, world class operation suites, 24×7 pharmacy, insurance facilitation and home collection of diagnostic test samples.  source
