Sep 18 : Allscripts Healthcare Solutions’ dbMotion Gets New Client

homeland security

Allscripts Healthcare Solutions, Inc. (MDRXAnalyst Report) revealed that St. Augustine, FL-based privately-owned Flagler Hospital has selected the company’s dbMotion electronic health records (EHR) solution in order to create a single, longitudinal patient record as well as lower costs and improve quality of care.

Flagler Hospital is a non-profit acute care facility having 335 beds and ambulatory services. It participates in a local clinically integrated network (CIN) and looking for opportunities to associate with other community health systems along the Florida and South Georgia coastline.

Flagler Hospital has chosen Allscripts dbMotion due to its population health analytics capabilities and the feature of an EHR agent. EHR agents can alert healthcare providers about the existence of patient information that may not appear in the provider’s “home” system. It allows providers to import the new data if they wish.

Flagler Hospital will use the Allscripts dbMotion Clinical Analytics Gateway (CAG) to optimize existing analytics packages. It will adopt the EHR solution’s Population Health Analytics functionality during the second stage of its implementation of Allscripts dbMotion.

Last month, Allscripts Healthcare Solutions announced that it will integrate Carmel, IN-based software solutions provider – Clinical Architecture’s comprehensive terminology management system, Symedical, with its dbMotion interoperability platform to streamline vocabulary mapping.

By incorporating Symedical, Allscripts Healthcare Solutions intends to provide its clients with efficient and enhanced mapping tools and improved vocabulary distribution. This would allow the clients to achieve health information exchange and connectivity goals in a faster manner, helping them to improve care and outcomes.

Clinical Architecture’s Symedical is an integrated knowledge management system and an end-to-end terminology framework that enables a healthcare solution provider to cope with the complexity of clinical terminologies.

Currently, Allscripts Healthcare Solutions carries a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold). Some better-ranked stocks in the medical information systems industry include athenahealth, Inc. (ATHNAnalyst Report), Merge Healthcare Incorporated (MRGEAnalyst Report) and Omnicell, Inc. (OMCLAnalyst Report). All of them carry a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy).
