The Complete Guide to Laser Hair Removal

Everybody wants that smooth skin with a silky glow. But the reality is that people want to experience such a glow not just on the day of shaving but every day. Well, be gloomy no more, as there has never been an easier way of getting rid of unwanted hair than laser hair removal treatment. Laser treatment is a growing trend in Australia. This market is already a part of a global network having a projected value of about 1378.4 million USD by 2027.

With the vast growths in skincare technology, rapid boosts in science and advancements in medicinal procedures, laser treatment has never been safer and convenient.

Treatment Procedure

Purely a scientific procedure with a predetermined safety standard, laser treatment is always safe, with some mandatory guidelines to follow.

A medical-grade laser implemented for cosmetic surgery is allowed to focus on the root of the hair follicles. The concentrated laser focussed on the specific spot destroys the cells. This, in turn, blocks the hair growth and with minimum pain and no surgery. The laser used in this treatment is approved medical grade equipment with no harm to the skin and no side effects.

Things to Consider Before and After The Procedure

Before

1. Be Realistic: There will always be hormones or other biological factors that can cause regrowth of removed hair. So make sure you have proper knowledge and understanding of the treatment and procedures. You must also be ready for more than a single session of the treatment for a complete hair removal result.

Let the doctor know of any prior medications or treatments before starting the procedure to assess the safest way for the skin type.

2. Skip The Products: Let the skin bask in its natural state before the treatment. This holds good for the 24 hours after the appointment too.

3. No Waxing: The root of the follicle must be present and clear so that the laser can identify and neutralise effectively. Doctors recommend a clean shave, and removing any extra long hairs is also beneficial for an effective treatment.

4. Avoid Sun Tan: Whether it’s real or fake, avoid a tan at all costs. Sunburns can interfere with the process and may cause the appointment to be changed. Australian dermatologists also recommend complete removal of a fake tan.

After

1. Avoid Physical Activities: 24 hours is given to a client after the treatment to abstain from any strenuous physical activity. This is because heavy activities can increase skin temperature. This leads to the formation of sweat that can lead to bacterial growth. In time, this will cause an infection or development of ingrown hair.

2. Use Recommended Products: After 24 or 48 hours, only use recommended products for the skin. This is to ensure that the procedure is effective and prep the skin for the next appointment.

3. Be Regular in Appointments: One cannot complete a laser treatment in a single sitting. This can be stressful to the skin. A usual procedure lasts for about two to six sittings for an effective treatment. Exceptional cases may require more. A proper schedule of appointments can significantly increase the effectiveness of the treatments.

One should not let unwanted hair cause a problem in keeping up with various fashion trends on the rise in Australia. With the development in skincare clinics, advanced laser hair treatment has made permanent hair removal a less daunting experience in and around the country.
