Vasterbotten County Council in Sweden chooses MetaVision county-wide

metavision county wide

Anne Belkin Director of Marketing iMDsoft Phone: +781-4495567 anne.belkin@imd-soft.com

iMDsoft announced that Västerbotten County Council in Sweden has chosen the MetaVision clinical information system for all their critical care departments. The council, which is comprised of Norrland University Hospital in Umeå, Lycksele Hospital, and Skellefteå Hospital, will install MetaVision in 160 beds, including NICUs, ICUs, CTICUs, intermediate care units, ORs and PACUs. iMDsoft and EVRY, one of the largest healthcare IT solution providers in Sweden, cooperated on this project. This is the third county in Sweden to select MetaVision for their entire region, joining Jönköping and Uppsala counties.

Västerbotten County Council is a regional authority responsible for delivering primary health care to its 250,000 residents and specialised medical care to the almost 1 million citizens in northern Sweden. Norrland University Hospital in Umeå, the largest hospital in the county, is known for its superior NICU, thoracic care and neurosurgery department.

Designed to deliver results in complex clinical environments, MetaVision includes advanced tools for clinical assessment, treatment and care planning, providing complete electronic patient records. Using MetaVision’s advanced decision support and analysis tools, Västerbotten County Council will be able to enforce clinical and administrative protocols, easily create reports for populating national databases and continually identify opportunities for increased patient safety.

iMDsoft’s proven track record of successful region-wide projects was a key factor in its selection. MetaVision’s unique architecture enables efficient software deployments across multiple sites, promoting standardisation and enforcing clinical best practices. The system provides data continuity across hospitals in the network and between departments, ensuring smoother handovers. Västerbotten County Council was impressed with MetaVision’s customisability, which enables hospitals to easily and quickly tailor the system to meet their clinical and operational needs. Clinicians can configure the system in accordance with how they work and incorporate new processes at any point.

“MetaVision is becoming the solution of choice for Scandinavian counties looking to automate their critical care environments region-wide,” said Lars-Oluf Nielsen, CEO of iMDsoft. “We are proud to have Västerbotten join the iMDsoft family and we look forward to partnering with them in order to improve patient outcomes and standardise care throughout all their hospitals.”

“We are looking forward to implementing an advanced, user-friendly, clinical information system in our anaesthesia and intensive care units. MetaVision replaces extensive paper documentation and legacy systems, giving us the opportunity to manage and present data in the most efficient way. This new solution will be an important part of our patient safety efforts, with less double documentation, fewer errors and increased compliance with regulatory reporting,” said Robert Wiksten, Project Manager, Västerbotten County Council.
