Department of Corrections Implements Electronic Health Records System

New Hampshire Department of Corrections Commissioner William L. Wrenn announced that the NHDOC is transitioning its paper-based medical records into an electronic document management system. The new Electronic Health Record (EHR) system was activated on Nov. 15, 2016, according to a press statement from Jeff Lyons, the public information officer from the NH DOC.

In 2013, the Legislature appropriated $500,000 in capital funding to acquire an EHR system, which is fully interfaced with the NHDOC’s offender management database (CORIS). In early 2016, a contract was awarded to NaphCare of Alabama to facilitate the implementation of their EHR product, TechCare.
