Jan 08 : Former UPMC CIO Dan Drawbaugh has been named CEO

Former UPMC CIO Dan Drawbaugh has been named CEO at the Steadman Clinic and Steadman Philippon Research Institute, sports medicine and orthopaedic research centers in Colorado.

The Steadman Clinic has clinics in Vail and Frisco, and the research institute is located in Vail. Drawbaugh left UPMC in August after 30 years at the system to pursue other interests.

Drawbaugh served as CIO at UPMC for 18 years, overseeing the hospital system’s adoption of electronic medical records. UPMC’s investment in the systems and related technologies topped $1 billion.
