Nov 07: Memorial Healthcare Implements Hyland Software’s

memorial healthcare implements hyland

Named one of the most wired healthcare organizations by Hospitals and Health Networks magazine, Memorial Healthcare is implements Hyland Software’s enterprise,OnBase content management (ECM) solution, to automate the electronic capture and access of information across their patient care delivery system, including acute, ambulatory and home-health services. Memorial Healthcare is integrating OnBase with its Meditech Hospital Information System across the organization to centralize patient information, streamline contract management and maximize human resources.

Memorial Healthcare evaluated Meditech’s Scanning and Archiving solution and realized that the business requirements for departments such as Human Resources and Accounts Payable required more workflow capability than what could be accommodated. The decision was made to implement OnBase because of its ability to meet both clinical and back office needs.

“We ultimately selected OnBase because it is much more capable of meeting both our clinical and back office needs,” said Frank Fear, vice president of Information Services at Memorial Healthcare. “Implementing OnBase across the enterprise will allow us to standardize our content management strategy and provide staff members with easy access to critical information stored outside of our Meditech Hospital Information System.”

Memorial Healthcare will use OnBase to manage images and other unstructured data through the Meditechintegration, creating a comprehensive view of the patient record. OnBase will help Memorial Healthcareelectronically capture paper documents, provide access to documents in the EMR, speed up manual processes with electronic workflows and centralize unstructured content in a single repository.

“Hyland’s integration with Meditech helps organizations achieve meaningful use and drive value across the enterprise,” said Susan deCathelineau, vice president of healthcare sales and services at Hyland Software. “Our integration with Meditech and other leading electronic medical records makes OnBase the best solution to provide the right information to the right user when and where they need it.”
