NOV 15: EMR keeping system implemented

emrs for specialists

North Saskatchewan River Municipal Health Holdings has implemented a new electronic medical record program and emr keeping system implemented and the clinics are working to resume normal scheduled appointments, board members were told at a Sept. 19 meeting.

It was reported to the board that has been a hectic schedule for the staff and practitioners to fit in the training and implementation and still continue clinic services. It will take a few weeks to get the clinics running efficiently again and appreciation for the patience of clients when booking appointments, was expressed.

Dr. Odiegwu and Dr. Dandugula will be away Nov, 19 to Nov, 22 for a conference. Dr. Wirth will be providing locum services that week to assist Dr, Tashatshela. Those needing routine appointment are urged to try to book around that week.

Prairie North Health Region and NSRMHH continue to work with a physician through the Saskatchewan International Assessment Physician Program. Dr. Mpomposhe is nearing the end of her assessment program and the board is hopeful she will be able to start her practice by the end of November.

The NSRMHH board regretfully accepted the resignation from Carla Olson. Carla was a casual employee for the clinics and has moved on to other employment.

Prairie North Health Region is presently advertising for the vacant nurse practitioner position. Celeste Toews is providing two days a week at the Edam clinic that is greatly appreciated by the board and community.

According to a press release, nurse practitioners are in great demand and in response to that NSRMHH has implemented an incentives package for a nurse practitioner to work in its clinics. The nurse practitioner is a vital part of the practitioner team and the board is committed to assist Prairie North in their recruitment efforts, the release states.

The next regular meeting of the North Saskatchewan River Municipal Health Holdings Board will be Monday Nov. 18 at 7:30 p.m. in the RM of Mervin office, Turtleford.
