Physician and Nurse Leader burnout is a public health crisis that demands action across the entire healthcare ecosystem. Burnout not only affects clinicians, but also the patients they serve. At the Physician Burnout Symposium, we will gather thought leaders and stakeholders for a few hours a day in January to address the multiple facets of burnout, such as time constraints, technology and regulations, and gain actionable solutions to implement within your health system. If you miss any sessions, they will be on demand until the end of January.
Healthcare worker burnout is intimately linked to the systems they are a part of and the world that they live in. There is no time that has been clearer than now, during COVID-19, when being burned out is influenced by, among other things, availability of personal protective equipment, anti-science sentiment, pay cuts, and layoffs, and caregiving.
In this expert panel, you will hear from experts who work on the frontlines inpatient care, but also in policy, public health, and advocacy. They will discuss burnout as they see it, and solutions for change. In this virtual workshop, we will look at how to develop metrics that matter for physician burnout. Quality metrics and administrative burden are identified as a key driver for physician burnout.
